About the studio

hello, we areMarlowe

A small studio with a big love for long tables, borrowed veils and the five minutes after the ceremony when nobody knows what to do with their hands.

Portrait of Juno Marlowe

The founder

I'm Juno. I photograph people, who happen to be getting married.

I started with a borrowed camera at my cousin's wedding in 2013. Nobody told me where to stand, so I stood everywhere.

Twelve years and a few hundred weddings later, that has not changed much. I still move through a day quietly, I still look for the in-between moments, and I still believe the best photographs happen when you forget I am there.

My work leans editorial: clean light, honest colour, a little drama when the day asks for it. I shoot on digital and medium format film, and every gallery is edited by me, by hand, with no presets doing the thinking.

When I am not working you will find me at the coast near De Haan with a thermos of coffee, or planning the next trip with my partner Bram, who also films half of our weddings.

What we believe

i.

Presence first

We would rather miss a detail shot than miss your father's face when he sees you. People before props, always.

ii.

Light is the style

We plan your timeline around the sun. Golden hour is not a luxury, it is the reason your portraits look the way they do.

iii.

Calm is contagious

Weddings run late. Rain happens. We stay steady, so you can stay in it.
